The 27th ICOLD World Congress took place at the Marseille Chanot from May 27 to June 3, 2022.

Ignacio Escuder Bueno, PhD in Civil Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Valencia, Professor of Hydraulic Engineering and founding partner of iPresas, presented on June 2 a study on the benefits of incorporating Climate Change into dam safety risk analysis.

The study carried out together with Javier Fluixá and Adrián Morales, highlights the importance of incorporating non-stationary impacts of climate change into dam safety. The proposed approach serves as a reference point for the design and prioritization of efficient long-term adaptation strategies to counteract the effects of climate change.

He also introduced the new cloud-based platform “Natural and Infrastructure Risk Manager” developed by iPresas which becomes a very useful tool for infrastructure management over time. Allowing to take to another level the management of critical infrastructure security, adjusting costs, ensuring its adaptability to the different changes that may occur in their environment as a result of climate change and demonstrating at all times that its way of proceeding is in line with the best global practices.
