Update of the hydrological–hydraulic studies and flood inundation maps for the Porce II and Porce III dams (Colombia) for EPM – 2023

The project consisted of updating the hydrology of the Porce II and Porce III dams in Colombia, including the effects of climate change, as well as developing a two-dimensional hydraulic model downstream of both dams and producing the flood inundation maps associated with the different calculation scenarios: dam breach, spillway operations and operational releases.

Based on the results obtained and their evaluation, a series of recommendations were also included throughout the documents to support decision-making regarding dam operation.
