Support for the evaluation and management of disaster risk and climate change for the CA-09 route program, North Corridor, Mayuelas-Teculután Section GU-L1189 (Guatemala) – 2024

The general objective of the consultancy is to provide support to the IDB for the development of a quantitative risk analysis that allows identifying the baseline risk profile and its future variation under different scenarios for the expansion of the CA-09 North Corridor, Mayuelas – Teculután section.

In addition, the measures to incorporate resilience to natural disasters and climate change into the project will be optimized, contributing to the long-term sustainability of the intervention.

  • Robust incorporation of the Climate Change process in precipitation analysis.

  • Technical support to the external consultant for the update of the base hydrological and hydraulic model.

  • Technical support in the development of the hydraulic model using HydroBID.

  • A quantitative flood risk analysis is carried out, and recommendations are made both for the optimization of the project’s final designs and for improving community risk conditions.

  • Development of the Disaster Risk Management Plan (DRMP) for mitigation and management of residual risk.
