In 2015, iPresas developed the Municipal Flood Risk Emergency Plan for Oliva (PAMRI), aimed at providing the highest possible level of protection for people, property and the environment potentially affected by flooding. The plan included a comprehensive risk assessment, the establishment of an operational structure for emergency response, the identification of vulnerable areas and the preparation of an inventory of available resources, together with mechanisms for its periodic update.
The project also defined procedures for public warning systems and ensured alignment with regional and municipal emergency management frameworks.
This experience is aligned with the objectives of Flood Risk Management Plans and other flood risk management initiatives. The expertise gained in risk assessment, resource inventories and public warning systems contributes to strengthening emergency preparedness and intervention strategies. Furthermore, incorporating the role of dams in flood management supports improved response planning and greater resilience to extreme hydrological events.
