Estas informa\u00e7\u00f5es continuam a ser essenciais para compreender o comportamento de uma bacia hidrogr\u00e1fica, identificar os eventos mais relevantes e estimar a probabilidade de futuras cheias.<\/p><p data-start=\"8340\" data-end=\"8907\">No entanto, num contexto de <strong>altera\u00e7\u00f5es clim\u00e1ticas<\/strong>, o passado, por si s\u00f3, j\u00e1 n\u00e3o constitui uma representa\u00e7\u00e3o fi\u00e1vel do futuro hidrol\u00f3gico de uma bacia hidrogr\u00e1fica. As altera\u00e7\u00f5es na intensidade das precipita\u00e7\u00f5es, na frequ\u00eancia dos eventos extremos e na ocupa\u00e7\u00e3o do territ\u00f3rio modificam significativamente a resposta das bacias. Uma grande quantidade de chuva concentrada num curto per\u00edodo pode exceder rapidamente a capacidade de infiltra\u00e7\u00e3o do terreno e gerar um maior escoamento superficial. Consequentemente, a \u00e1gua chega mais rapidamente aos cursos de \u00e1gua, os caudais m\u00e1ximos aumentam e o tempo dispon\u00edvel para ativar medidas de preven\u00e7\u00e3o e emerg\u00eancia \u00e9 reduzido.<\/p><p data-start=\"9733\" data-end=\"10268\">A resposta depender\u00e1 das caracter\u00edsticas de cada bacia hidrogr\u00e1fica: o declive, a geologia, a vegeta\u00e7\u00e3o, a humidade antecedente do solo, o grau de urbaniza\u00e7\u00e3o e os usos do territ\u00f3rio influenciam a transforma\u00e7\u00e3o da chuva em escoamento. Esta abordagem parte geralmente do pressuposto de que as condi\u00e7\u00f5es estat\u00edsticas observadas no passado permanecer\u00e3o relativamente est\u00e1veis. Contudo, quando as condi\u00e7\u00f5es clim\u00e1ticas se alteram, este pressuposto pode deixar de ser v\u00e1lido.<\/p><p data-start=\"10952\" data-end=\"11196\">Uma cheia considerada pouco frequente com base nos registos hist\u00f3ricos poder\u00e1 ocorrer com maior frequ\u00eancia no futuro. Da mesma forma, um evento extremo poder\u00e1 superar os caudais originalmente utilizados no dimensionamento de uma infraestrutura.<\/p><p data-start=\"11198\" data-end=\"11666\">Isto n\u00e3o significa que os registos hist\u00f3ricos deixem de ser v\u00e1lidos. Eles continuam a constituir o ponto de partida de qualquer estudo hidrol\u00f3gico, mas devem ser complementados por cen\u00e1rios que permitam avaliar de que forma poder\u00e3o mudar a frequ\u00eancia e a magnitude dos eventos extremos. Por esta raz\u00e3o, os estudos devem analisar um intervalo suficientemente amplo de situa\u00e7\u00f5es, incluindo eventos frequentes, cheias extremas e cen\u00e1rios futuros de altera\u00e7\u00f5es clim\u00e1ticas.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-13963b1 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"13963b1\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Aumento dos Caudais e Altera\u00e7\u00e3o das Zonas Inund\u00e1veis<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-66beab4 e-grid e-con-full e-ecs-grid e-con e-child\" data-id=\"66beab4\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\" data-settings=\"{&quot;ecs_container_type&quot;:&quot;grid&quot;}\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-2137fa6 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"2137fa6\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"PDq2pG_selectionAnchorContainer\" data-start=\"11725\" data-end=\"12085\">O aumento da intensidade das precipita\u00e7\u00f5es pode traduzir-se em caudais m\u00e1ximos mais elevados nos rios, ribeiras, canais urbanos e sistemas de drenagem. Este aumento pode provocar n\u00edveis e velocidades superiores, inunda\u00e7\u00f5es em zonas anteriormente n\u00e3o afetadas e uma maior press\u00e3o sobre pontes, passagens hidr\u00e1ulicas, canais e outras infraestruturas hidr\u00e1ulicas.<\/p><p data-start=\"12087\" data-end=\"12196\">Al\u00e9m disso, a altera\u00e7\u00e3o n\u00e3o se limita necessariamente \u00e0 extens\u00e3o da superf\u00edcie inundada. Por exemplo, uma ponte com capacidade hidr\u00e1ulica insuficiente pode provocar o aumento dos n\u00edveis de \u00e1gua a montante; um sistema de drenagem urbana pode ser excedido por uma precipita\u00e7\u00e3o mais intensa; e uma defesa contra inunda\u00e7\u00f5es pode proteger uma zona, mas transferir parte do problema para outro setor do sistema.<\/p><p data-start=\"13784\" data-end=\"13999\">Por este motivo, as infraestruturas n\u00e3o devem ser analisadas isoladamente.
