Doctoral students (Innodocto)<\/em> of the <strong>Valencian Innovation Agency<\/strong> (Agencia Valenciana de la Innovaci\u00f3n, AVI), has granted <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ipresas.com\">iPresas<\/a> an aid for the development of the project entitled <strong><em>Seismic Risk Characterization in Embankment Dams Using Numerical Models, with Application to the Insurance Market and Safety Investment Planning<\/em><\/strong>. The objective of this aid is to promote the training of doctoral students so they will acquire the necessary skills to develop R&amp;D projects in business environments and thus increase the companies degree technification and innovative capacity.<\/p>\n<p>The main purpose of this project is the <strong>development of numerical methods that allow the estimation of the failure probability in embankment dams due to seismic events<\/strong>, and their application to the insurance market and safety investment planning.<\/p>\n<p><strong>These numerical methods will allow obtain fragility curves<\/strong> that will provide the failure probability depending on the solicitations.
