{"id":1874,"date":"2018-07-10T12:07:22","date_gmt":"2018-07-10T12:07:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ipresas.com\/?p=1874"},"modified":"2024-04-01T17:18:33","modified_gmt":"2024-04-01T15:18:33","slug":"ipresas-contribution-to-the-xxvi-congress-of-icold-held-in-vienna","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ipresas.com\/en\/ipresas-contribution-to-the-xxvi-congress-of-icold-held-in-vienna\/","title":{"rendered":"iPresas contribution to the XXVI Congress of ICOLD held in Vienna"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>iPresas<\/strong> participated in the <strong>XXVI Edition of the Congress of ICOLD <\/strong><em>(International Commission on Large Dams<\/em>), held in <strong>Vienna (Austria) <\/strong>during July 2<sup>nd<\/sup> &#8211; July 6<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0 2018.<\/p>\n<p>Specifically, <strong>Jessica Castillo<\/strong>, Head of RD Projects at iPresas, presented a contribution with the title &#8220;<em>Enhancing dam safety and water resources management in India: the case of Bhadra dam (Karnataka, India)&#8221; <\/em>for the <strong>ATCOLD Hydro Engineering Symposium <\/strong>celebrated during July 2<sup>nd<\/sup> and 3<sup>rd<\/sup>, prior to the Congress.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, <strong>Adrian Morales<\/strong>, iPresas CTO, presented together with <strong>Facundo Souto <\/strong>(ORSEP, Argentina) a contribution entitled <em>&#8220;Implementation of risk analysis to inform dam safety from a regulatory perspective: application to Cerros Colorados system (Neuqu\u00e9n, Argentina)&#8221;<\/em>, selected as an oral presentation during the <strong>technical session <em>Q101: Risk analysis<\/em><\/strong><em>. <\/em>The work included the results of the project performed by iPresas in collaboration with the Organismo Regulador de Seguridad de Presas (ORSEP) of Argentina in the period 2017-2018.<\/p>\n<p><strong>iPresas<\/strong> also collaborated with a poster format presentation of other <strong>two contributions <\/strong>published in the proceedings of the Congress. The <strong>first one<\/strong>, entitled <em>Risk analysis in San Marcos Dam (Spain): a new step forward for risk-informed safety management of regional Government of Extremadura dams, <\/em>was developed by iPresas in collaboration with the <em>regional Government of Extremadura <\/em>and PAYMACOTAS Extremadura <em>(<\/em>authors: Manuel Setrakian-Melgonian, regional Government of Extremadura, Ignacio Escuder-Bueno, Adrian Morales-Torres, Jessica Castillo-Rodriguez, and Dolores Simarro-Rey); and a <strong>second <\/strong>contribution, entitled <em>Plan of strategic actions for the rehabilitation of 164 dams of Brazil based on the Brazilian risk-based methodology<\/em>, presented in collaboration with Gas Natural Fenosa Engineering, within the framework of the PLANERB project (authors: Jos\u00e9 Manuel Alonso, Rafael Ribeiro, Ignacio Escuder, Ignacio Guerra, Modesto S\u00e1nchez and Adrian Morales).<\/p>\n<p>The event, which involved the participation of <strong>1000 individuals<\/strong>, brought together worldwide professionals and multidisciplinary experts to discuss, deliberate and share knowledge on management strategies in the field of dam safety.
