On friday 10 November, our colleague Sergio Romero Duque received the accessit award for the best Master’s thesis in the field of Water Engineering and Climate Change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sergio developed his Master’s thesis entitled “Evaluation of the use of sub-seasonal weather forecasts to support water management in the J\u00facar river basin”, which analyses the feasibility of incorporating sub-seasonal weather forecasts in the management of the J\u00facar river basin. This will enable more informed decision-making, guaranteeing water availability and sustainable management. The study combines the ECMWF sub-seasonal weather forecast model with a hydrological model of the J\u00facar river exploitation system developed in TETIS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This prize, awarded by the IIAMA-UPV (Water and Environmental Engineering Research Institute of the Polytechnic University of Valencia), aims to recognise the best work of young researchers from Spanish universities and promote excellence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
