Dr. Ignacio Escuder-Bueno (founding partner of iPresas) and Dr. Armando Serrano-Lombillo (CTO R&D of iPresas) present the New Spanish Technical Guide “Risk Analysis applied to Management of Dam Safety”.<\/p>\n

The Technical Guide, published by the Spanish National Committee on Large Dams (SPANCOLD), was presented during the Technical Seminar on \u201cGovernance and prioritization of hydraulic infrastructure investments\u201d. This seminar was held in Madrid on December 11, 2012, in the Assembly Hall of the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment.<\/p>\n

The seminar was opened by Ms. Liana Ardiles L\u00f3pez, Director General of Water at the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment, and Dr. Jos\u00e9 Polim\u00f3n L\u00f3pez, President of SPANCOLD.<\/p>\n

The presentation of the Technical Guide “Risk Analysis applied to Management of Dam Safety” included contributions from all members of the Technical Guide writing team: Arturo Gil Garc\u00eda (SPANCOLD), Dr. Ignacio Escuder-Bueno (iPresas & UPV), Dr. Armando Serrano-Lombillo (iPresas) and Eduardo Rojo Martinez (IBERDROLA).<\/p>\n

The event also included the presentation of the application of risk analysis for prioritizing investments in dam safety to a portfolio of dams of the Duero River Authority.<\/p>\n

With 150 attendees, the event was a success and concluded with a panel discussion with participants from organizations such as SPANCOLD, General Directorate of Water, Catalan Water Agency and Ebro River Authority.<\/p>\n

All participants received a copy of the Technical Guide. An English version can be found on the website of\u00a0SPANCOLD\u00a0<\/strong><\/a>and the\u00a0Publications<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0section of our website.<\/p>\n
