{"id":1093,"date":"2018-04-11T09:10:08","date_gmt":"2018-04-11T09:10:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ipresas.com\/?p=1093"},"modified":"2025-01-08T17:27:48","modified_gmt":"2025-01-08T16:27:48","slug":"damsafe-project-follow-up-meeting-in-delft","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ipresas.com\/en\/damsafe-project-follow-up-meeting-in-delft\/","title":{"rendered":"DAMSAFE project: follow-up meeting in Delft"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><i>The meeting held in Delft, evaluated the project status and actions to be implemented within the next months.<\/i><\/li>\n<li><i>iPresas participates along with the entities Deltares, Royal Eijkelkamp and SkyGeo in an international project co-financed by RVO (Netherlands Enterprise Agency)\u00a0<\/i><i>and whose end-user beneficiary is the Department of Water Resources of Karnataka (India).<\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>Jessica Castillo and Ignacio Aranguren from <em><span style=\"color: #00a0d1;\"><a style=\"color: #00a0d1;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ipresas.com\/\">iPresas<\/a><\/span><\/em> participated on April 4 in the workshop of the\u00a0<strong>DAMSAFE project<\/strong>\u00a0(<i>&#8220;Enhancing Dam Safety and Reservoir Management in India&#8221;<\/i>), held at Deltares in the city of Delft (the Netherlands).<\/p>\n<p>The objective of this meeting was to inform\u00a0<strong>about the current state of this project\u00a0<\/strong>that aims at implementing an integrated approach for dam safety, including different innovative tools &#8211; developed and tested in other places &#8211; that provide high quality information for the end-user and help\u00a0<strong>to improve safety of dams and water resources management in India<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The pilot case is Bhadra dam, located in the state of Karnataka in southern India.\u00a0<i>iPresas<\/i>\u00a0participates with the entities\u00a0<i>Deltares, Royal Eijkelkamp and SkyGeo<\/i>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe importance of this project relies on\u00a0<strong>the impact of project outcomes on the definition of future strategies to be developed by KaWRD<\/strong>, one of the main departments of the Government of Karnataka (India), responsible for managing safety of 236 dams and large reservoirs&#8221;, according to Jessica Castillo, Head of R&amp;D projects at iPresas.<\/p>\n<p>Specifically, at the meeting held on April 4, 13 members of the project consortium\u00a0<strong>evaluated the work done and actions to be implemented<\/strong>\u00a0within the next months.
