Ignacio Escuder, invited speaker in Princeton University

The seminar, titled “Smart governance and community resilience with an application to dams”, took place at the Civil Engineering Faculty of Princeton University (New Jersey) on November 3, 2014.

The seminar covered the risk analysis framework, from its theoretical formulation to its links to governance issues, including international case examples on critical infrastructures (large dams) and overall flood risk management.

Special focus on the concept of smart governance (how people, processes and policies come together), driven by risk-informed infrastructure management programs, was provided based on practical experience over the last ten years, dealing with many different organizations and contexts in Europe and America.
