David Macías Arias holds a MSc in Civil Engineering and a bachelor in Civil Engineering, both from the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV, Spain). He has years of experience in consulting related to the application of risk analysis techniques to the risk management of natural disasters and risk analysis in dams and other infrastructures.

He is a specialist in hydrology and hydraulics, developing several international flood study projects using hydraulic models. At the same time, he has experience in consequence estimations, both economical and social, in risk analysis projects.
